Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Firmware Test Engineer II to join our electrical engineering team in Wisconsin. You will design and execute tests validating firmware for embedded systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine requirements and ensure product quality.

You will lead test development improvements, perform data-driven analyses, and mentor junior engineers while leveraging Agile practices to meet milestones in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of verification/validation testing experience.
• Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing experience.
• Embedded systems and/or PCBA design experience.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets.
• Experience with instruments like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
• Exposure to LabVIEW, Test Stand, and NI hardware.
• Experience with Python, C#, or C/C++ scripting.
• Working knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile methods.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and troubleshoot firmware test procedures for embedded systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine test requirements.
• Peer-review test designs and automation efforts.
• Support test plans to ensure firmware meets requirements.
• Contribute to Agile product development processes and milestones.
• Lead continuous improvement in test development and data analysis.
• Document technical meetings and present findings clearly.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
