Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Wisconsin/Minnesota seeks a Firmware Engineering Intern for its PMB division. You will work on embedded firmware in industrial products, gaining hands-on experience with C/C++, real-time systems, and testing under senior engineers.

You will report to the Engineering Manager in Mequon, WI. No relocation assistance is provided. The role emphasizes learning, Agile practices, and exposure to hardware, protocols, and cybersecurity in an international team.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. No visa sponsorship.
Minimum GPA 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Enrolled for at least one more semester after internship concludes.
Local or attending school within 50 miles of Milwaukee area.

Responsibilities

Assist with development, programming, debugging, and testing of embedded firmware.
Contribute to firmware features, testing, or engineering tools for industrial drive products.
Develop embedded software using C/C++ and Python scripts.
Support firmware testing: unit, integration, and functional.
Participate in code reviews and learn coding standards and processes.
