Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Firmware Engineering Intern to join the Global Power Motion Business development team in Mequon, WI. You will work on embedded firmware in industrial products, gaining hands-on experience with C/C++, real-time systems, and testing under mentorship from senior engineers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE, with exposure to Python and scripting, and a willingness to learn software development practices in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and no visa sponsorship planned.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, programming, debugging, and testing of embedded firmware under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Contribute to firmware features, testing, or engineering tools for industrial drive products.
• Develop embedded software using C/C++ and Python for testing and tooling.
• Support firmware testing including unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Help troubleshoot firmware issues and learn coding standards and processes.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to development practices and documentation.
