Job summary

AMD interns and co-ops are placed at the epicenter of the AI ecosystem, working on reference hardware/software, and supporting pre-silicon emulation and simulation environments. You’ll join experts, participate in reviews, and learn AGILE processes while delivering meaningful work on AMD products.

This full-time co-op/ internship role is based in the US (Boxborough, MA) with hybrid or onsite work structures for Spring/Summer and Summer/Fall terms.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based University in a Master’s program majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with BIOS/firmware or system software development is expected.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and knowledge of hardware architectures.
• Experience with embedded systems, RTOS, and hardware debugging.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug, and validate features on reference hardware and software.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews and project planning.
• Build and complete clear documentation for all software produced.
• Work on internal and external platforms.
• Learn and apply AGILE methodologies and standard processes for Software Engineering.
• Engage in x86 firmware development and embedded firmware/Bootrom/HW.
• Debug issues at the FW/HW boundary with waveform analysis.
