Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Firmware Engineering intern/co-op in Austin, TX. You will craft, implement, and validate features on reference hardware and pre-silicon environments, while learning AGILE processes and collaborating across teams.

You’ll participate in design and code reviews, build documentation, and work on embedded firmware, Bootrom/HW, and x86 firmware topics with support from experienced engineers. This paid internship offers hybrid/onsite options during the term.

Qualifications

• Master's student in US university (Electrical Engineering, CS, or CE).
• Strong C/C++ and firmware development knowledge.
• Experience with embedded systems, Linux, and hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug, and validate firmware features on reference hardware and software.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
• Create clear documentation for software produced.
• Work on internal and external platforms and learn AGILE practices.
• Engage in BIOS/firmware development and embedded FW/Bootrom concepts.
