Job summary

Textron Inc. is seeking an intern to gain hands-on firmware experience at our Hunt Valley, MD location. You'll collaborate with engineers to write and debug firmware, document design and test procedures, and work with hardware teams to resolve issues.

The role expects current enrollment in Electrical Engineering and US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance, offering mentorship and real project work in a structured 10-week internship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• US citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance
• Ability to work 40 hours/week
• Capable of working well with a cross functional team

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with engineers to write, and debug firmware code to ensure functionality and performance.
• Preparing and maintaining documentation detailing firmware design, functionality, and test procedures.
• Working with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineering, to identify and resolve issues.
• Participating in design and code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback to improve firmware quality.
• Firmware development: Gain hands‑on experience in writing and debugging firmware.
