Job summary

AMD is seeking a motivated Firmware Engineering intern/co-op to join our team in Colorado and collaborate on firmware for discrete and embedded products. You’ll work on reference hardware, pre-silicon environments, and participate in design and code reviews to deliver high-quality software.

You’ll learn AGILE processes, build clear documentation, and gain experience across FW/HW boundaries. This role offers hands-on learning at scale with real impact on AMD's AI and compute platforms.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university (Bachelor’s program) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of low-level BIOS, firmware, or system software development is a plus.
• Familiarity with source control, debuggers, compilers and system-wide debugging from software to hardware is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in firmware development for AMD’s discrete and embedded products.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
• Create clear documentation for software produced.
• Work on internal and external platforms and learn AGILE methodologies.
