Job summary

Apptronik in Austin, TX seeks a Firmware Engineer to develop firmware for the dexterous hands of our humanoid robots. You will collaborate with the hands firmware team to implement, test, and debug embedded software for motor control, sensor I/O, and real-time communications, interfacing with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers from prototype to production.

As you grow on the team, contribute to hardware bring-up, build HIL and SIL tests, and help scale firmware quality and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in an engineering field with embedded software focus.
• 0-2 years of relevant embedded software experience; internships ok.
• Strong C/C++ skills; familiarity with Python and Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for dexterous hand designs including motor control and sensor I/O.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers across prototype to production.
• Contribute to HIL/SIL testing to validate safety and performance at scale.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and tooling discussions.
• Help ensure firmware reliability and field performance for fleets of hands.
