Apptronik is hiring a Senior Firmware Engineer in Austin to lead actuation firmware for humanoid robots. You will implement real-time control loops, support hardware bring-up, and improve reliability across hundreds to thousands of actuators in production.

You will work with cross-functional teams on tooling, testing, and architectural decisions to scale robotics firmware from prototype to mass deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in EE/CE/Mech or equivalent
• 5+ years developing production-grade embedded software
• Experience with motor control firmware (FOC, current/torque)
• Embedded real-time constraints and field deployment experience
• Experience with telemetry, diagnostics and field reliability
• Familiarity with MISRA C and ISO 26262 is a plus

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with controls, systems, electrical, mechanical, and software teams to architect actuators
• Develop and maintain motor control firmware (FOC, current/torque) for brushless motors
• Support system identification, controller tuning and performance validation
• Define HIL/SIL test strategies for actuation systems
• Contribute to firmware tooling, build systems, and developer infrastructure
• Participate in code and design reviews and architectural discussions
• Assist in hardware bring-up from prototype to production
