Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop firmware for the dexterous hands of our humanoid robots. You will join the hands firmware team to implement, test, and debug embedded software driving motor control, sensor I/O, and real-time communications across MCUs.

You will work with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to bring hand designs from prototype to production, while contributing to HIL and SIL testing and ensuring firmware quality in scalable fleets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of embedded software experience (internships/co-ops/academic projects ok).
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python; familiarity with Docker and Git.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and debug firmware for dexterous hand designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical systems engineers to align firmware with hardware.
• Contribute to HIL/SIL tests and stack improvements for reliability and safety.
• Participate in code/design reviews and mentor junior team members.
