Job summary

Valinor is a defense and government technology company building embedded sensing systems. You will develop firmware for microcontrollers, bring up hardware, interface with sensors, and ensure production-ready software across revisions.

You’ll own device drivers, provisioning, firmware updates, and field support, collaborating with hardware and software teams to deliver secure, low-power IoT devices with OTA capabilities for real-world deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in firmware or embedded systems on microcontrollers/SoCs.
• Strong C/C++ skills with bare-metal and RTOS experience.
• Experience with hardware debugging tools (JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes).
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, CAN or Ethernet.
• Firmware for IoT devices with OTA updates and remote config.
• Experience with low-power or battery-operated devices and embedded security.
• Experience bringing products to production: provisioning, testing, distribution.
• Familiarity with PCB design processes and prototyping tools.
• Comfortable collaborating across hardware, mechanical, software.
• Builder mentality, curiosity; startup experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level firmware for microcontrollers and reusable device drivers.
• Bring up new hardware, integrate sensors, troubleshoot across domains.
• Collaborate on MCUs and peripheral selection; schematics reviews.
• Develop reliable device connectivity, low-power operation, OTA updates.
• Build and maintain flashing, provisioning, and manufacturing test workflows.
• Own firmware development from prototype to production and field support.
