Job summary

Colossus Technologies Group in San Francisco is seeking a Firmware Engineer to own embedded development for flagship connected devices, collaborating with hardware, manufacturing, product, and software teams.

You will design and maintain production firmware in C/C++, bring up sensors and interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, USB), and develop drivers for memory-constrained devices. The role also emphasizes OTA updates and continuous improvement of firmware architecture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of embedded firmware experience.
• Strong hands-on C/C++ in production embedded systems.
• Experience with low-memory, compute-constrained devices.
• Experience with peripheral drivers and hardware interfaces (UART/I2C/SPI/USB/DMA).
• Experience bringing up new hardware and debugging across firmware and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production firmware for connected consumer hardware using C/C++.
• Bring up and integrate sensors, peripherals, and interfaces into hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware, manufacturing, product, and software teams through prototype to production.
• Develop low-level drivers and communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, USB, DMA).
• Build firmware for memory- and compute-constrained environments; improve architecture and processes.
