Job summary

AMD seeks a Systems Design Engineer in Santa Clara to drive scalable software/hardware solutions for product development and validation. You will work on bring-up, debug, and optimization across SOC programs with strong cross-team collaboration.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, lab equipment, and system-architecture knowledge, enabling efficient feature validation and release readiness.

Qualifications

• Programming/scripting skills (C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
• Debug techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with lab equipment (protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes).
• Experience with board/platform-level debug (delivery, sequencing, analysis, optimization).
• Knowledge of system architecture and validation strategy.

Responsibilities

• Driving technical innovation to improve AMD's capabilities across validation and tooling.
• Debugging issues during bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.
• Coordinating with multiple teams and tracking test execution for timely validation.
• Collaborating with supporting technical teams across projects.
• Engaging in software/hardware modeling frameworks.
