Job summary

South County Fire in Washington state seeks a Firefighter Paramedic to provide Advanced Life Support and non-emergency EMS outside the hospital under medical direction. The role also covers fire suppression, training drills, equipment maintenance and leadership by example, with shifts per the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualified candidates must hold a WA Paramedic Certification (or reciprocity), a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year as a full-time Firefighter Paramedic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Washington Paramedic Certification required.
• Minimum 1 year as a career Firefighter Paramedic.
• Must meet WA DOH reciprocity requirements.
• Completion of PST exam prior to application (per requirements).

Responsibilities

• Provides ALS and non-ALS EMS services outside hospital setting under Medical Director.
• Operates department apparatus and assists with fire suppression.
• Participates in training, pre-fire planning, inspections.
• Reports to Captain; maintains readiness and teamwork.
• Maintains physical conditioning and adheres to safety protocols.
