Job summary

South County Fire in Snohomish County, WA is seeking a Firefighter Paramedic to provide Advanced Life Support services outside of hospital settings under medical director direction. The PM also performs fire suppression, equipment maintenance, and training, reporting to the Captain with shift schedules per the collective bargaining agreement.

The position requires a High school diploma or GED, WA Paramedic Certification (reciprocity), National Registry or WA DOH certification, and participation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Washington Paramedic Certification; reciprocity if applicable.
• National Registry or WA State Paramedic Certification required.
• Completion of WA Respiratory Protection Program.
• PST Firefighter written exam required before applying.

Responsibilities

• Participates in training, pre-fire planning and inspections to ensure readiness.
• Communicates with diverse community under emergency stress.
• Rides in and/or drives department apparatus as required.
• Delivers ALS medical treatment and transport to patients per standards.
• Transfers patients from scenes to ambulance and to medical facilities.
