Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is hiring a Paramedic for a part-time role focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care on both basic and advanced levels. The position emphasizes leadership on scene, coordination with medical and public safety teams, and active involvement in community programs.

Required credentials include a WA State Paramedic License or NREMT-P, a valid State Driver’s License, ACLS and PALS, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

WA State Paramedic License or NREMT-P is required.
High school diploma or GED is required.
State Driver’s License is required.
ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
Driving record must be in compliance with company policy.
Must pass Physical Agility Test.
Some healthcare work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess each call to determine best action under paramedic protocols.
Use defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction devices and IV fluids to provide advanced care.
Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
Act as Paramedic team leader and manage the scene and unit as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Collaborate with allied health, public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and relations.
