Job summary

Northwest Fire Protection District seeks Paramedics to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) care in emergencies and to work with EMTs, firefighters, and hospitals. This role focuses on prehospital care with emphasis on clinical judgment, teamwork, and patient safety.

Successful candidates will perform assessments, manage diverse patient populations, and maintain certifications while ensuring high-quality EMS delivery and continuous education.

Qualifications

• Illinois Licensed Paramedic in good standing.
• National Registry Paramedic preferred/required if applicable.
• Mercyhealth EMS affiliation within 1 month.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) per IDPH and District protocols.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and formulate treatment plans.
• Establish intravenous and intraosseous access; administer medications within scope.
• Coordinate transport destinations and communicate with online medical control.
• Complete electronic patient care reports (ePCRs) accurately and timely.
