Job summary

Paramedic Services of Illinois, Inc. is seeking Paramedics to respond to emergencies, assess patients, and provide life-saving care in accordance with established protocols.

You will work within a team to perform medical interventions, document thoroughly, and maintain equipment and vehicle safety. The role requires completion of a paramedic program and an Illinois license, a valid driver's license, and a commitment to ongoing education and licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Paramedic program completed and Illinois DOH license.
• Maintain continuing education requirements and licensure.
• Illinois driver’s license with proper classification.
• Background check and pre-employment screenings required.
• State firefighter certifications optional but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and assess medical needs.
• Provide medical treatment per protocols and guidelines.
• Safely lift, transfer, and move patients as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other responders.
• Maintain accurate transport, equipment, and incident documentation.
• Ensure compliance with continuing education and licensure requirements.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct on duty.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment and report safety issues.
• Participate in public education and emergency response activities.
• Operate firefighting and rescue equipment as needed.
