Job summary

Paramedic Services of Illinois is seeking a Paramedic to join our EMS team in Illinois. You will respond to emergency calls, provide advanced medical care, and assist with transport and documentation to high standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Current/Valid Illinois Driver's License.
• Successful completion of a Paramedic program and IL license.
• Ability to complete continuing education and testing requirements.
• State of Illinois Firefighter Certifications (for Firefighter applicants).
• Successful pass of background check.
• Pass pre-employment testing: Fit for Duty, Drug Screening, Agility and Lifting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and assess patients.
• Administer medical treatment per protocols.
• Safely lift, transfer, and maneuver patients.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of transport, equipment, and incidents.
• Comply with continuing education and licensure requirements.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor on duty.
• Inspect and report vehicle/equipment issues; assist with maintenance.
• Participate in public education, training, and safety programs.
• Respond to fire alarms; operate firefighting and emergency equipment.
• Preserve evidence at fire scenes and conduct search/rescue.
• Attend firefighting/emergency medical technique instruction and drills.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Paramedic program completion

Illinois Department of Public Health License

Continuing education compliance

State of Illinois Firefighter Certifications (for Firefighter applicants)
