Qualifications

• Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and paramedic licensure.
• Paramedic program completion and ongoing continuing education required.
• Background check and pre-employment testing including drug screen and fitness evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and assess patient needs.
• Administer medical treatment per protocols and guidelines.
• Safely lift, transfer, and move patients in ambulances and various settings.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams for coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate transport and equipment records and comply with licensure requirements.
• Ensure uniform, hygiene, and professional conduct on duty.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment and report safety issues promptly.
• Participate in public education, EMS training, and community outreach.
