Job summary

The City of Newnan is seeking qualified Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic to join the Newnan Fire Department. You will engage in rapid emergency response, code enforcement, education and planning while upholding teamwork and integrity.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, NPQ Firefighter I, Georgia Basic Training, and EMT/Paramedic certification with ongoing training. Full-time position with competitive benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• NPQ Firefighter I certification and Georgia Basic Training Course required.
• EMT or Paramedic certification must be maintained.
• Ability to read and interpret rules, operate manuals and write routine reports.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire and emergency alarms; operate firefighting equipment and ladders.
• Perform salvage and overhaul; move debris and protect property.
• Rescue individuals from danger involving fire, chemicals or hazardous environments.
• Assist EMS with patient care, splinting, triage and vital signs.
