Qualifications

• North Carolina Certified Firefighter (Firefighter I & II) is required.
• North Carolina EMT certification is required.
• Hazardous Materials Level I Responder.
• TIMS certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Clean criminal background.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire calls and perform fire suppression duties.
• Assist in hazardous materials response and mitigation.
• Provide emergency medical care as an EMT.
• Perform patient transport assistance as needed.
• Participate in ongoing training to meet standards.
• Inspect and maintain apparatus and equipment.
• Engage in public fire and life safety education.
• Utilize tools for rescue and patient care.
• Conduct pre-fire planning with the company.
• Enter data and maintain records with computers.
