Job summary

Qualifications

• Entry-level firefighter with 12-month probation.
• Must obtain NC EMT, NC Firefighter, NC Hazardous Materials Level I within probation.
• Ability to work under emergency conditions and maintain fitness.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, rescues, and other threats.
• Operate fire apparatus, advance hose lines, and perform rescue and patient care.
• Conduct fire prevention activities, safety education, and community outreach.
• Maintain apparatus, equipment, and station facilities.
• Train regularly and participate in drills to stay proficient.
