Qualifications

• Must reside within the Town of Scarborough or within one mile of the Scarborough town line.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be enrolled in a secondary education program.
• Must hold and maintain a valid Maine driver's license.
• Must pass a post-offer comprehensive physical exam.
• Must exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently.
• Candidate must be mature, honest, compassionate, able to work well with others, and able to interact positively with the public.
• Must be prepared to respond to Fire and EMS calls in all weather/day or night and in varied settings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire suppression and medical emergencies in the community.
• Work as a member of a team and participate in team training.
• Engage in routine station maintenance and equipment upkeep.
• Perform firefighting and rescue activities as trained.
