Dorchester County is seeking a dedicated firefighter to perform general firefighting duties, respond to emergency calls, and provide EMS on-scene support. You will operate firefighting equipment and participate in ongoing training to meet departmental standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, SC driver's license, and multiple certifications including Firefighter I, NIMS-ICS, and First Aid/CPR/AED.

Competenze

• Must have High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
• Firefighter I certification from IFSAC/Pro Board.
• NIMS-ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• SCDOT Class E License and Hazardous Materials Operations required within 1 year of hire.
• Firefighter II certification from IFSAC/Pro Board within 1 year of hire.
• SCFA Rapid Intervention Team training within 1 year of hire.
• SCFA Rescuing the Rescuer training within 1 year of hire.
• Emergency Medical Responder certification within 1 year of hire.
• SCFA Emergency Vehicle Driver training within 1 year of hire.

Mansioni

• Responds to fire, emergency medical, and non-emergency calls.
• Perform firefighting and fire suppression activities.
• Administers emergency first aid.
• Participates in drills and training on firefighting techniques.
• Complies with station policies and federal/state regulations.
• Assists with pre-fire planning, prevention, and apparatus checks.
• Operate fire suppression equipment and tools.
• Communicates with Fire Chief, other departments, and the public.
• Maintain station cleanliness and fitness.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned.
