Job summary

Dorchester County Fire Department seeks a dedicated firefighter to respond to fire, EMS and non-emergency calls, perform firefighting duties and administer first aid. You will participate in drills, maintain equipment, and ensure safety policies are followed during all operations.

The role requires a valid SC driver’s license, Firefighter I certification, NIMS-ICS training and First Aid/CPR/AED. The position operates on a 48/96 shift with overtime opportunities and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina state driver’s license.
• IFSAC/Pro Board Firefighter I certification.
• NIMS-ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire and EMS calls and perform firefighting and fire suppression tasks.
• Administer emergency first aid and support drills and training sessions.
• Adhere to policies, safety procedures, and regulations while on duty.
• Maintain station cleanliness and equipment readiness; participate in pre-fire planning.
