Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Fire Captain, perform routine, complex, and emergency tasks related to fire suppression, fire prevention, and emergency medical services according to state, local, and federal standards.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma from an accredited institution or GED (education will be verified).
• At least 18 years of age.

Required Certifications/Licenses

• Proof of current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician in Florida or NREMT certificate.
• Proof of Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Florida Driver's License.
• Birth Certificate.
• EVOC certification.
• Current BLS/HCP certification.
• Current CPAT within 1 year.
• Completed Tobacco affidavit.

Special Requirements

All applicants must be non-tobacco users for at least one year prior to application, remain tobacco-free during the application process, and throughout employment. Tobacco-free means no use of cigarettes, pipes, cigars, chewing tobacco, snuff, vapes, or any other tobacco products.
