Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Technical Support Manager to oversee estimating quality, field technician performance, and training program development across sales, engineering, and operations. The role drives new product offerings and ensures safety and code compliance.

Responsibilities include forming the ETSS group, building training paths, mentoring technicians to advanced levels, reviewing smoke control designs, and coordinating with AHJ/architects. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Professional Fire Protection Engineer.
• At least 10 years of experience designing complex fire systems with extensive knowledge of the California Building Code, California Building Fire Code, California Building Mechanical Code, California Building Electrical Code, and NFPA 72.
• Ability to comprehend and correctly apply these codes to system designs.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills, and software knowledge of AutoCAD and the Microsoft suite.
• Possess strong training skills; ability to train, develop, and evaluate others.
• Ability to communicate to a diverse group including leadership, regional staff, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and deliver a fire alarm system, programming, and smoke control training curriculum for multiple roles at four levels (beginner to expert).
• Identify training needs for each technician and create development paths with records.
• Create an Expert Technical Support Specialist (ETSS) group and mentor technicians toward expert certification.
• Review and sign off on all smoke control system designs during bids and submittals to ensure quality and code compliance.
