Job summary

BSI is seeking a Certification Manager for Fire Systems to lead certification schemes for fire suppression products, including extinguishers, blankets, hose reels, and related systems. You will manage client certification projects, review standards, and coordinate with scheme owners to deliver timely certification.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fire equipment certification or related quality management in manufacturing, knowledge of ISO 17065, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in certifying or assessing fire equipment or suppression systems.
• Quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 17065 compliance requirements for certification.
• Familiarity with reading and understanding standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• General knowledge of business principles and commercial awareness.
• IT literacy and ability to learn new systems, including internal BS I systems.
• Ability to work remotely as part of a team and to tight time scales.
• Comfortable dealing with people at all levels across a business.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritise and supervise your own work to ensure timely processing of certification applications.
• Provide technical support for contract reviews and ensure correct setup of applications.
• Review technical reports and ensure timely, effective completion of certification tasks.
• Make certification recommendations when owning the project.
• Maximise fee-earning project utilisation and manage deadlines.
• Deliver projects to customer expectations and timelines.
• Provide policy input on technical, regulatory and procedural issues.
