Job summary

Johnson Controls in Charlotte, NC seeks a skilled Service Technician to service and repair Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems and Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, diagrams, submittals and manuals to install and troubleshoot equipment.

The role requires excellent communication, strong customer service, and problem-solving skills. A valid US driver’s license is needed.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair portable extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.

• Manage daily service calls and customer activity.
• Assist customers with questions in a timely, professional manner.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.
• Perform inspections of suppression gas systems per contract requirements.

What you will do

Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems in addition to other related building system products at customer sites. Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. Manage daily service call, customer activity and program system products.

How you will do it

• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participation in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Performs inspections of Suppression Gas Systems based on contract requirements.

• PC Skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications
• Any Manufacturer certifications is a plus; ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem
• Valid US drivers license

• HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20-$26 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
