Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a service technician to perform on-site maintenance and installation of fire suppression and related building systems. The role involves evaluating blueprints and manuals, managing service calls, and providing professional customer support in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and may hold manufacturer certifications (ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem).

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Preferred: manufacturer certifications (e.g., ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem).

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems, as well as related building system products, at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install products from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and program system products.
• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for emergency service.
• Perform inspections of suppression gas systems based on contract requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Hiring hourly range: $20–$26 (rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities). This position includes a competitive benefits package.
