Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Portsmouth, VA, is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Technician to layout, fabricate, install, and maintain fire sprinkler systems and related piping.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or equivalent, a current Fire Sprinkler License, and 3–5 years of installation experience; strong math, teamwork, and the ability to read blueprints are essential. This on-site role requires travel and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced technical schooling or related experience preferred.
• Current Fire Sprinkler License required.
• 3–5 years installing pipe systems and valves; 5+ years preferred.
• Ability to read English, work in a team, and meet schedules.

Responsibilities

• Install pipe systems and valves as specified.
• Cut, thread, assemble and bond piping and tubes per specs.
• Maintain and modify pipe systems, units and fittings.
• Remove and replace worn components.
• Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
• Calculate material measurements for accuracy.
• Mentor Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices and Helpers.
• Keep company vehicle clean and maintained per policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
