Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Designer in Texas to design and prepare layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential settings. You will work with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure code-compliant, safe installations.

The role requires knowledge of NFPA codes, hydraulic calculations, and CAD software; NICET certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD.
• Experience with CAD software and BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, AutoSPRINK, BIM 360).
• NICET certification in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and local building codes.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes to design sprinkler systems and water supplies.
• Read architectural and MEP drawings and develop working layouts.
• Coordinate with engineers and contractors to ensure code compliance.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare bill of materials.
• Assist with proposal documents and technical data.
