Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter to install sprinkler head, valves, and steel/CPVC piping in new constructions and renovations, with minimal supervision.

You will read blueprints, cut and fit pipe, install and trim valves for wet, dry, and pre-action systems, and help train apprentices, while maintaining safety and cleanliness on site. This role requires 3–5 years of experience, a HS diploma, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
• 3–5 years' experience installing pipe systems and valves.
• Able to work alone or as part of a team; strong math and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Cut, fabricate, and install steel pipe and CPVC pipe as designed for fire sprinkler system.
• Install and hang pipe, sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, hangers and other components per blueprints.
• Install and trim valves for wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
• Read blueprints and construction documents to ensure proper installation.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas; report progress daily.
• Train sprinkler apprentices and follow safety programs; participate in toolbox talks.
• Ensure tools and materials are secured at day end.
