Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Houston is seeking a qualified designer to design fire protection sprinkler systems for industrial, commercial and residential applications. You will prepare submittals, fabrication lists, and assist field personnel to ensure design accuracy and timely installation.

Responsibilities include field surveys, permit submissions, and final close‑out documentation after testing. NICET certification is a plus; HS diploma or GED and 1–3 years related experience are typical

High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
NICET certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design fire protection sprinkler systems, including pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge systems with accuracy for field installation.
Submit design plans to leadership for approval and obtain permits as required.
Calculate figures to convert design dimensions for production.
Design within allocated hours per job.
Review work orders and manuals to determine critical design dimensions.
Prepare submittal packages and correspondence to achieve design approval.
Prepare fabrication lists and requisition materials for the job.
Perform field surveys to ensure design is appropriate for structure.
Assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.
Prepare and submit final job close‑out documents after acceptance testing.
