Job summary

Western States Fire Protection in Texas is seeking a Service Sprinkler Fitter to install, repair and maintain fixed extinguishing systems across job sites. Travel within Texas required; must join UA Local Union 669 and possess a clean license.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and pass pre-employment drug test and background check; strong communication and mechanical skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must become a member of the UA Local Union 669 Road Sprinkle Fitters.
  • Texas RME-I license preferred.
  • Service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills preferred.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willing to lift up to at least 50 pounds.
  • Willing to climb ladders.
  • Strong mechanical background is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check; if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and maintain all types of fixed extinguishing systems, including underground piping.
  • Troubleshoot and repair wet, dry and pre-action sprinkler systems.
  • Troubleshoot dry sprinkler air compressors.
  • Tenant improvement remodel work including adding and relocating sprinklers.
  • Sprinkler system pipe changes outs.
  • Responsible for installing and servicing a variety of other fire protection equipment such as standpipes, foam systems and other systems.
  • Travel within the states of Texas to work on various locations/job sites as necessary.
  • Comply with union collective bargaining agreement.
