Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to craft layout drawings for sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. You will apply NFPA and local codes, read architectural/MEP drawings, and produce hydraulic calculations to support safe, code-compliant installations.

The role collaborates with PMs, engineers, and contractors, requiring three+ years in design and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and related CAD tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and fire protection standards.
• Experience reading architectural/MEP drawings and developing master drawings.
• NICET certification preferred (Water-Based Systems Layout).

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes and standards to sprinkler system designs.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Develop working layouts and final master drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and material take-offs.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA and local codes.
• Assist with proposal documents and data such as test procedures.
• Provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, email, or in person.
