Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our partnered life safety team in the Carmel, IN area. You will design and develop fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, ensuring NFPA compliance and alignment with customer requirements.

Responsibilities include creating detailed layouts in AutoCAD/HydraCAD/AutoSPRINK, performing hydraulic calculations, and coordinating with PMs, engineers, contractors, and AHJs throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of fire sprinkler design experience with AutoCAD.
• NICET Level I or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout.
• Strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Prepare detailed sprinkler layout drawings using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and/or AutoSPRINK.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and AHJs throughout project lifecycles.
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, and attend project meetings as needed.
• Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and construction documents.
• Assist with permitting and submittal packages.
• Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.
