Job summary

gpac partners with a leading fire protection and life safety firm to recruit a Fire Sprinkler Designer for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects in Indiana.

The designer will create and develop sprinkler systems in line with NFPA standards, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with PMs, engineers, and AHJs to ensure timely, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of fire sprinkler design experience with AutoCAD.
• NICET Level I or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout.
• Strong understanding of NFPA codes and standards.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to job sites and attend meetings when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Prepare detailed sprinkler layout drawings using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and/or AutoSPRINK.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and system analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and AHJs throughout project lifecycles.
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, and attend project meetings as needed.
• Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and construction documents.
• Assist with permitting and submittal packages.
• Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines.
