Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to develop detailed CAD drawings for sprinkler systems and ensure accurate placement on diverse projects in the Raleigh area.

The role involves applying AutoCAD-based design, hydraulic calculations, and coordination with installation teams to meet scheduling needs. Experience with HydraCAD and sprinkler design software is preferred, with NFPA standards familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with NFPA standards for sprinkler design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings for sprinkler systems to ensure proper placement.
• Design and layout sprinkler systems using CAD software on AutoCAD platform.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and coordinate piping with building components.
• Conduct field checks of designs for accuracy.
• Collaborate with district contracting teams to align design with installation timelines.
• Mentor others in sprinkler design execution.
