Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Sprinkler Helper to assist the Sprinkler Fitter with assembly and installation of sprinkler systems on our commercial projects in Richmond, VA.

You will cut, thread and hang pipe, inspect and repair systems, and support valves and fittings across sites. Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of construction or sprinkler experience, basic math, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months construction or fire protection/sprinkler experience; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Knowledge of basic tools and materials.
• Understands and practices the proper use of power and hand tools.
• Possesses basic math and computation skills.
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
• Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, tests, adjusts and removes sprinkler systems.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Selects specified type and size of pipe.
• Cuts, threads and hangs pipe.
• Assists in the installation of valves, couplings and other fittings.
• Assists in the lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Follows proper construction practices and company policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
