Job summary

TP Mechanical Contractors seeks a Fire Protection Inspector to ensure installation, inspection, testing, and documentation of fire protection systems in full compliance with NFPA standards and project specs. You will support construction teams, coordinate inspections, and manage documentation for successful system turnover.

The role requires 3–7+ years of experience, knowledge of wet/dry/pre-action systems, AHJ requirements, and proficiency with AutoCAD/BIM.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years in fire protection QA/QC or construction inspection.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and AHJ requirements.
• Ability to read drawings and hydraulic calculations.
• Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, and field inspection software.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Review fire sprinkler drawings for code compliance and constructability.
• Verify installation aligns with approved drawings and submittals.
• Perform above-ceiling inspections and tagging of components.
• Manage punch lists and QA/QC status with Project Manager.
• Attend hydrostatic inspections and testing; complete documentation.
• Travel between regions to support multiple projects.
