Job summary

Engineering Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Plumbing & Fire Protection to design building systems for industrial, life sciences, institutional and commercial facilities.

You will design domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, natural gas and related systems, produce construction documents in a Revit-based BIM workflow, and survey existing facilities. This role requires at least 4 years of MEP design experience, an EIT, and hands-on experience with Revit

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical, Architectural or related Engineering degree.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in building systems or MEP consulting design.
• EIT certification required.
• Hands-on design experience with plumbing and/or fire protection systems.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 14.
• PE license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, natural gas and related plumbing systems, including sizing calculations.
• Design sprinkler, standpipe and fire pump systems to NFPA and local code requirements.
• Produce construction documents (drawings, specifications and equipment schedules) in a Revit-based BIM workflow.
• Survey existing facilities and evaluate the condition and capacity of in-place plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate system routing and interfaces with architectural, structural, HVAC and electrical disciplines.
• Provide construction phase support: shop drawing and submittal review, RFI responses and vendor/contractor coordination.
• Prepare engineering studies and recommendations while managing tasks against budget and schedule across concurrent projects.
