Job summary

IMEG Corp. in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Fire Protection Project Engineer to lead design efforts for fire alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems. You will coordinate with senior staff and clients on project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to deliver compliant, cost-effective solutions.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and cross-disciplinary collaboration within a hybrid full-time schedule. A PE license and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field required.
• PE license in Fire Protection Engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years in building design consulting; 4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Engage clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and build relationships.
• Support project execution, lead planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress, fees, and percent complete.
• Analyze problems with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Perform in-process design reviews and implement QC for fire protection designs.
