Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Fire & Life Safety Program Specialist to own the fire protection lifecycle on our industrial campus. You will lead design, installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and suppression systems, and partner with EHS on risk mitigation.

This full-time on-site role requires technical expertise and strong project management. You will review vendor work, manage budgets, and engage AHJ for permitting and testing while guiding incident response and impairment controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance, reliability, and upgrade program for existing fire alarm systems.
• Provide project management for new fire suppression and sprinkler installations.
• Review designs, submittals, and shop drawings from vendors and engineering firms.
• Lead troubleshooting and repair during emergencies and impairments.
• Identify and mitigate fire hazards including ESS and battery storage.
• Coordinate with EHS for emergency readiness and impairment management.
• Ensure compliance with building and fire codes and maintain documentation.
• Engage AHJ, fire marshal, and insurance during permitting and testing.
• Develop budgets and forecast capital needs for fire protection systems.
• Support AM&M and performance-based design proposals to AHJ.
• Create training for technicians and response teams on fire system operation.
