Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Fire & Life Safety Program Specialist to own fire protection strategy for an industrial campus, leading maintenance, upgrades, and new installations. You will review designs, coordinate with vendors, and ensure regulatory compliance while directing on-site activities during emergencies.

You will work closely with EHS to mitigate hazards like lithium-ion energy storage and aerospace integration, ensuring robust fire safety across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in fire protection or related field.
• NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
• 7+ years in fire alarm/suppression design, installation, programming, or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance, reliability, and upgrade program for existing fire alarm systems per NFPA 72/25.
• Provide project management for new fire suppression and sprinkler installations, including budgeting and contractor selection.
• Review and approve designs, submittals, and shop drawings; perform in-house design and panel programming for small-scope mods.
• Direct troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm/suppression systems with contractors; hands-on during emergencies.
• Identify hazards (e.g., ESS) and drive controls with EHS to mitigate them.
• Ensure compliance with codes (IBC/IFC/NFPA) and maintain documentation.
• Develop and manage budgets for fire protection systems; forecast replacements.
