Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join the HQ construction team in Hawthorne, CA. You will design, build, and activate fire protection and life safety systems across world-class facilities, acting as the SME for codes, hazard analysis, and performance-based design criteria.

This on-site role requires relocation if not local. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and customers to ensure code compliance, manage multiple projects, and contribute to SpaceX’s mission of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar required.
• At least 1 year designing or consulting on fire protection systems.
• Proficiency with fire protection principles and codes desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support fire protection system design and life safety specifications.
• Develop code compliance documents for facility infrastructure at SpaceX facilities.
• Perform hazard analysis and fire protection calculations as part of design.
• Assist field teams with on-site solutions during construction.
• Support commissioning during pre-test and AHJ testing phases.
