Job summary

SpaceX in the United States is seeking a Sr. Fire & Life Safety Program Specialist to own the full lifecycle of fire detection and suppression systems across our industrial and aerospace campus.

You will manage ITM per NFPA standards, review vendor designs, and lead emergency response coordination. This on-site role requires NICET certification, 7+ years of experience, and strong project management skills; you will partner with EHS and interact with AHJ, contractors, and suppliers to ensure code

Qualifications

• NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Alarm Systems
• 7+ years of experience in fire alarm and/or fire suppression system design, installation, programming, or maintenance
• 3+ years of experience in project or program management of fire protection or facilities construction projects

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance, reliability, and upgrade program for existing industrial fire alarm systems across the site per NFPA 72 and NFPA 25
• Provide project management for new fire suppression and sprinkler systems from small scopes to multi-million-dollar capital projects
• Review and approve fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler designs, submittals, and shop drawings; perform in-house design and programming for small-scale modifications
• Direct troubleshooting and repair of fire alarm and suppression systems with contractors; provide hands-on diagnosis during emergencies
• Identify and mitigate fire hazards including lithium-ion battery storage and aerospace operations; drive controls to address risks
• Partner with EHS to drive emergency response readiness and impairment management
• Ensure compliance with building and fire codes; maintain documentation, ITM records
• Engage AHJ, fire marshal, and insurance carriers; manage permitting and inspections
• Develop and manage budgets for fire protection systems; plan end-of-life replacements
• Support AM&M and performance-based design proposals to AHJ
• Develop training for facilities technicians and emergency teams
