Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to integrate safety and health requirements into complex projects at the Hanford site in Richland, WA. The role focuses on reducing fire and life-safety risks within the WTP Fire Protection Program (FPP) and supporting maintenance, engineering, and operations.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, bid input, coordinating meetings, and ensuring ITM and inspection processes, document control, and effective field-office communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Science, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of fire protection, safety, or life safety experience.
• Certifications as Fire Inspector, Fire Marshal, or Code Enforcement Officer (CCEO, CCEA).
• Office and field work, including writing, and using MS Office applications with telephone operation.

Responsibilities

• Implements the WTP Fire Protection Program (FPP) and represents the FPM in facilities through inspections and audits.
• Develops, reviews, and implements FPP documents.
• Identifies gaps and implements improvements in the FPP.
• Recommends, reviews, coordinates, and approves compensatory measures for FPS and LSS impairments.
• Performs FP Audits and Inspections.
• Performs FPP Self-Assessments.
• Maintains understanding of FPP requirements and implementing mechanisms for compliance.
• Reports FPP noncompliance and deficient conditions.
