Amentum is seeking a Senior Industrial Safety Specialist to implement and administer project safety programs at the Hanford site. The role requires strong compliance with federal/state regulations and active participation in safety training and incident investigations.

The position is based at the Construction Site (near Richland, WA) with a 4x10 schedule and DOE site access requirements. Amentum emphasizes safety culture and environmental stewardship in all activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Safety, Health, or Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering.
• 8+ years related experience with a BS or 6+ years with an MS.

Responsibilities

• Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing safety and quality in the performance of work.
• Provide technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work to ensure safety and environmental standards are followed.
• Recommend facilities and technical specifications to fulfill safety objectives.
• Identify workplace hazards across operations and maintenance activities.
• Develop hazard controls and oversee their implementation.
• Support worker safety and health needs, including injury and event response.
• Ensure effective implementation of safety and health rules, policies and procedures.
• Participate in pre-task and safety meetings.
• Perform incident investigations and prepare reports.
• Maintain knowledge of government requirements.
• Develop and maintain IS training programs and conduct training meetings.
